Olga Boznańska – the most eminent Polish female painter of the Young Poland period, associated with realism and impressionism. Known for astonishing portraits, as well as still lifes, studies of rooms, and landscapes. She worked in Munich and Paris, where she received the Grand Prix at the 1937 International Exposition. The artist’s works are characterised by the lightness of colours, which are dominated by dark hues of brown, green, grey and black, contrasted by shades of white and pink. Her most famous paintings include: “Girl with Chrysanthemums”, “Portrait of a Woman”, “Girl with a Basket of Vegetables in the Garden”, or “Miss Dygat”.
The album is the best selection of Olga Boznańska’s works from the whole period of her creative activity. The reader will find over 50 famous and lesser-known reproductions, accompanied by an introduction on the artist’s creative output.
