The new mini-album in the series on the most outstanding Polish poster artists is devoted to Franciszek Starowieyski, a graphic designer, painter, draughtsman, scenographer, and performer. Starowieyski designed over three hundred excellent posters, most of which were meant for films, theatre plays, and festivals. His works, clearly inspired by baroque art, combine realism with surrealism and sensuality with transience, contain a fascinating message and a delightfully heterogeneous form. Starowieyski won multiple awards, e.g. Grand Prix at the São Paulo Art Biennial (1973), Grand Prix for film poster at the Cannes Film Festival (1974), and Grand Prix at the International Festival in Paris (1975). This mini-album, prepared by Dorota Folga-Januszewska, presents 60 most famous posters of the artist.
