Another book in the “Posters” series presents the art of Hubert Hilscher (1924–1999), one of the most famous Polish graphic artists. Hilscher was a versatile author of not only posters and applied graphics, but also book illustrations and corporate identity. Involved with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a number of publishing houses and magazines, he supervised the artistic teams in the Art Graphic Publishing House (1961–1970), “Przegląd Kulturalny” (1959–1961) and “Projekt” (1962–1983). Hilscher designed posters for many exhibitions and festivals, including the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn”. He is particularly famous for multiple colourful and witty circus posters featuring exotic animals. The introduction and selection of reproductions in the minialbum was prepared by Irena Przymus.
