Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio is considered one of the most outstanding baroque artists ever. Ferdynand Ruszczyc (1870–1936) – painter, graphic designer, and draughtsman, leader of symbolism in the art of Young Poland. Initially, at the urging of his father Edward, he enrolled in a law course in Saint Petersburg, but he quickly gave it up in favour of studying at the local Academy of Fine Arts, from which he graduated in 1897.
