“Abakanowicz. Sculpture” presents the art of one of the most outstanding Polish artists, Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930–2017), who made a name for herself primarily as the author of artistic fabrics, including monumental spatial compositions referred to as abakans from her last name. Winner of multiple awards, for example at the São Paulo Art Biennial in 1965, when she received the Grand Prix for her abakan designs. The sculptor’s interests always revolved around humans and their place in the modern world. “Red Abakan”, “Backs”, “Embryology”, “Unrecognised”, “5 Figures” are just a few of the artist’s most famous projects. The mini-album contains an introduction by Julita Deluga.
