Adam Myjak born in 1947 – sculptor and teacher, professor of plastic arts. Since 1971, involved with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, appointed rector for three double terms. He became an important Polish sculptor before turning 30. Today, he is an icon of Polish modern sculpture. His works are presented in two galleries: in the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music and the Gardzienice Centre for Theatre Practices. Presented with multiple awards and distinctions. In 2019, awarded with the honorary doctorate by the Lviv National Academy of Arts, as well as the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award in the Lifetime Achievement category. His art speaks of a human determined to exist and exhausted by the struggle, who still holds on to hope and rises like a phoenix from the ashes. He sculpts heads, torsos and figures. He is fully aware of the mental, spiritual and moral condition of the human being in the eventful world. His extensive artistic output includes objects of his own autonomous artistic expression (indoor and outdoor) as well as designs (on a given subject/commissioned) of monuments, architecture, plein-air art, medals and even stage sets. His technical skills are magnificent. The album sums up his 50 years of artistic activity.
