Stanisław Wyspiański (1869–1907) – one of the most outstanding Polish artists, a painter, playwright, and poet, co-founder of the Society of Polish Artists “Sztuka”. He was active in a number of art fields, each characterised by his innovative solutions. Wyspiański made a name for himself as a painter, whose portraits revealed the psychological traits of the model, whereas his landscapes focused on natural phenomena. Among his pioneering achievements the most prominent ones include designs of polychromies, stained-glass windows, furniture, and fabrics, as well as typographic innovations. The author of “The Wedding” was also involved in the social life, devoted particularly to the preservation of cultural heritage. The album, prepared by Magdalena Laskowska, contains over 200 most famous works by Stanisław Wyspiański from Polish museums.
