Volume two of The Book of World Dragons by Bartłomiej Grzegorz Sala presents over 100 dragons and serpent-like beasts known from tales and legends of pre-Christian and Christian Europe. As a historian and ethnologist, the author describes the dragons in a detailed and vivid way, from Scandinavia and the British Isles to the Alps and the Balkan Peninsula. While you read, you will get to know the most famous Nordic, Celtic, and Germanic dragon monsters, such as Jörmungandr, Nessie, and the Lambton Worm, but also the less-popular ones from Italian or Swiss tales – Ouivra, Panéa, and Tarantasio – which are just a few of the fire-spitting creatures marauding the southern parts of the continent. On the pages of this volume, you will also find some Polish dragons and serpentine monsters, such as the most popular Wawel Dragon and the king of reptiles and lord of the waters – Žaltys. The most famous of the creatures in the book are illustrated by Mikita Rasolka.
