The second part of the collection of Krzysztof Potaczała’s accounts of the Bieszczady Mountains during the Polish People’s Republic period. Real, mostly little-known stories and anecdotes based on documents and interviews with the witnesses to that time. The subjects of the book richly illustrated with archive photographs include the first student camp-sites and the hippie settlement in Caryńskie, the history of the monument to General Świerczewski and the Sociologist’s Hut, a church built overnight and an Orthodox church reconstructed thanks to one man’s efforts, the Ustjanowa woodworking combine and military farms, the plans to establish an open-air village museum in Łopienka and the bombastic vision of comrade Gierek, as well as a train travel under Soviet supervision.
