The richly illustrated “Atlas of Legends” by Paweł Zych, the author of the popular “Slavic Bestiaries”, opens a new series on Polish tales. Divided into several parts, it presents stories from Lower and Upper Silesia, the Lubusz province and Greater Poland. The author not only recalls legends from particular cities and villages, but also locates them on maps, depicting the figures, streets and historical buildings. From the book, you will learn about, e.g. a city which was troubled by the Afro-bandit, the origins of the name Ząbkowice, the bites of the forevampire, the result of a meeting between Władysław I Łokietek and the Noteć Forest lumberjacks, or the route of the Wrocław spooky procession. It is a great read for older and younger readers, presenting Polish towns and legends in a fun and easy style.
