Another figure in the “Medallist” series, created in collaboration with the Polish Olympic Committee, is Waldemar Baszanowski (1935–2011) – an accomplished Polish weightlifter. Baszanowski was a four-time Olympian, two-time Olympic champion (Tokyo 1964, Mexico City 1968), five-time world champion, six-time European champion, and 25 -time world record holder. The weightlifter’s life is presented by sports journalist Stefan Szczepłek, and the text is accompanied by unique photographs, e.g. from the collection of the Polish Olympic Committee.
