Timothy Mouse and Fred Hedgehog. A Secret Hiding Spot by Dagmara Budzbon-Szymańska is the second part of the adventures of two friends who upset the London robbers’ apple-cart.
Encouraged by the success in solving their first mystery, Timothy and Fred, in collaboration with uncle Iggy, rat McDonald and superintendent John Smith, try to track down a gang of thieves stealing Dutch and Flemish works of art. They wander around the famous National Gallery in London in search of a mysterious portrait with a feather, make some surprising discoveries, and every step of the way prove that a tiny person can have a big heart.
The book was illustrated by Joanna Gębal, who uses colours and humour to depict the doings of the clever protagonists, and incidentally presents works inspired by true gems of European art.
