The new mini-album in the Painting series presents the artistic output of Stanisław Baj (b. 1953) – a painter, draughtsman, teacher, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, multiple award winner, among others, of the prestigious Kazimierz Ostrowski painting award. Baj’s art is dominated by peasant portraits, countryside-inspired genre scenes and landscapes presenting mainly the area of the River Bug. Particularly noteworthy are also the numerous portraits of his mother, which constitute a unique study of passing. The volume, with an introduction by Anna Wachta, contains nearly 60 of the artist’s most famous works.
