One of the great four of romanticism, Cyprian Kamil Norwid, was not only a prominent poet, writer and playwright, but also an excellent draughtsman and painter, which we can see in the collection of ink, pen, crayon, and watercolour works reproduced in another mini-album in the Drawing series. With merely a few lapidary lines, this versatile artist was able to masterfully depict the reality around him – at times idyllic or witty and even ironic – always manifesting impeccable drawing skills. Norwid created self-portraits, portraits, genre and satirical scenes, as well as symbolic compositions. The mini-album contains nearly 60 of his most famous works, most of which belong to the National Library collection.
